PRODUCERS SYNOPSIS: Meet Max Bialystock, a once-glorious Broadway producer whose shows now close faster than a New York minute. The former King of Broadway is reduced to raising production money the old-fashioned way—sweet-talking a battalion of wealthy little old lady investors, each with a checkbook, a kink for flirtation, and a healthy disregard for personal boundaries.
.
Enter Leo Bloom, a mild-mannered accountant with anxiety levels rivaling a hummingbird on espresso and a secret dream of becoming a big-time Broadway producer. While doing Max’s books, Leo makes a scandalous discovery: a producer could make more money with a guaranteed flop than with a hit. Cue the world’s most questionable business plan—and a partnership destined for glorious catastrophe.
.
Max and Leo embark on a mission to create the most offensive, tasteless, irredeemably awful musical in human history: “Springtime for Hitler.” They recruit a deranged playwright who idolizes the Führer, a director whose artistic motto is “more sequins, fewer boundaries,” Ulla—their Swedish secretary-slash-dancing-vision-in-a-catsuit—and a chorus line of tap-dancing stormtroopers (because why not?).
.
Everything is perfectly terrible—until their intentionally horrid show becomes a surprise smash hit. Now Max and Leo must face a jubilant audience, furious investors, and the chaos that follows when you accidentally become the toast of Broadway for all the wrong reasons.
.
✨ It’s a high-kicking, guilt-inducing, laugh-out-loud musical about ambition, friendship, bad ideas, and the unpredictable magic of showbiz—proving that even the worst plan can sometimes turn out… absurdly great.
